Generative design is a creative practice in which the output is generated by a set of ordered (rules or algorithm based) and disordered (chance, error, collaboration) systems. The first experiment was a collaborative project using the numbers from a UK lottery ticket to create rules, which would direct designs made of black squares against a square grid. The second experiment involved reusing those numbers to develop a set of color patterns from album covers in my iTunes library. A book and poster document the two different visual explorations.
